If you are interested in my retelling of a famous Celtic Myth, you can find that on Substack this week. Because the Welsh myths come from the later medieval era they have negative images of the Goddess. Just as I did with the Revealing the Druid Legacy series, I told the tale of the Birth of Taliesin, the 'greatest of all Bards', in a way that feels more like the way it would be told before the time of the Roman Church.

Here is the link for Gwion and the Goddess. All my recent posts have voiceovers for those who prefer to listen. And the post before this has more information about the importance of the Bard in ancient times. Find this and all the archived posts, plus this week's Moondays Report on my Substack Page. Subscription is free and there are other perks for Paid Subscribers, $6 a week or $60 for a year.

November 1st brought the Calendar day for celebrating the cross-quarter Celtic festival known as Samhain in Ireland and Nos Calan Gaeaf in Wales. Both names point to the start of Winter. The Agricultural year was over and a new one was beginning and so this was also considered the start of the New Year. The seeds of the next harvest and other plants were now below the earth where they would begin to sprout at the next cross-quarter in Aquarius on February 2nd. This was considered the beginning of spring.

At some point, later cultures assigned seasons to the Solar Cycle of Light. These times were also celebrated by the Celtic ancestors as 'stations' in the Solar Year, a pattern of phases we also see in the Moon Cycle of light.

The actual 'Gate' of Scorpio is the most accurate time to celebrate the cross quarters. It occurs when the Sun occupies the 15th degree of the fixed sign. For Scorpio this year, that happens on November 7th to 8th.

And the Full Moon closest to this time was another choice for those who wanted more energy and moonlight to aid travel on what is one of the festivals that takes place at night.
